Seats are allocated for this event, if you wish to be sat with other parties please book as a group.

Children 16 or under MUST be sat in a carriage with a responsible adult.

Do I need to book my Thomas & Friends ride?

Yes, you need to book your ride to Shelley. Choose a date and one time slot from the options listed.

​

Do children under two require a ticket?
All passengers need a ticket to travel. Children under the age of 1 years (who travel on an adult’s lap or babes in arms) are free of charge.

​

Do you have special pricing for carers?
No, there is no special pricing.

​

Do I have to book in advance, and will tickets be available on the day?
We strongly recommend booking in advance due to the popularity of the event. Tickets maybe may be available on the day. Details will be available on our social media and website pages. You can also call ahead to check before you travel.

How long are the rides to Shelley?
The journey to Shelley takes 25 minutes. 

​

How long are the platform rides with Thomas and Thomas & Friends characters?
Platform rides are approximately 5 minutes long and are unlimited throughout the day.

​

Can I stay all day?
Visitors are welcome to stay until 17:00 each day.

​

How many people can sit in a compartment?
Being a narrow-gauge railway, our compartments can accommodate a maximum of four people seated and one child under 1 on an adults lap.

Does the event have disabled access and are you able to accommodate wheelchairs onboard the trains?
Foldable wheelchairs are welcome along with pushchairs. There is a single carriage which can transport an occupied wheelchair, but we recommend contacting Whistlestop Valley on 01484 865727 or via email at info@whistlestopvalley.co.uk before reserving tickets. Is there somewhere to eat and drink?
We have a café serving a selection of drinks, hot and cold food at Clayton West with an ice cream parlour at Shelley.

​

Can I bring my dog?
We advise not to bring dogs to our Thomas events due to the number of visitors. Special assistance dogs are welcome.

​A pre-booked train to Shelley Station and back (this will NOT be Thomas unless booked on the 10am train or 12:40)

The event is open to visitors from 09:15 until 17:00.

​

All ticket holders are entitled to unlimited platform rides behind Thomas between 11:00 and 17:00.
