Wilson Digital Media Ltd operates the ticketing website and online shop on behalf of Whistlestop Valley Limited (referred to as Whistlestop Valley below).

 

Wilson Digital Media Ltd does not set ticket or online shop prices nor does it determine seating locations.

Ticket Sales Terms & Conditions

By purchasing a ticket by telephone, in person over the counter, via www.whistlestopvalley.co.uk (including e-tickets) or via an authorised Whistlestop Valley agency, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions:

Tickets 

Booking Fees: 

  • All bookings are subject to a £1.80 booking fee

  • Prices quoted in printed material and online are exclusive of all fees

  • Discounted tickets do not include discounted booking fees.  There are no discounts to booking fees

  • Booking fees are how Wilson Digital generates revenue for creating, maintaining and hosting the site, processing your payments, issuing your tickets and working with Whistlestop Valley to ensure your booking experience is smooth, secure and simple

Child Tickets: 

  • A ticket is required for each child attending, regardless of age or whether a fee is due for that ticket.  In order to purchase a child’s ticket, the person using it should be under 16 years old

  • Children must be accompanied by a supervising, paying, responsible person (over the age of 16 years) at all times

  • Tickets are not permitted for 'children only' under any circumstances.  All under 16s must be accompanied by a responsible person over the age of 16

Discounts:

  • Discounts for Big Adventures tickets, Halfway Play Day tickets and for some special event tickets (please check with Whistlestop Valley) are available for holders of a child's Max Card and also for carers.  Any applicable discounts are only validated by the visitor providing proof upon arrival.  For those booking using a Max Card, the Max Card must be presented upon arrival.  For those booking a carer's ticket, proof by way of PIP or DLA documentation must be shown upon arrival

Ticket Delivery

  • An order confirmation (which acts as your e-ticket) will be sent to you via email when you complete your booking

  • For special events, an email will be sent in the fortnight leading up to the event with further details.  Please check your spam and junk folders

Terms of Admittance

  • For the protection and comfort of all visitors, Whistlestop Valley reserves the right to refuse admission or eject in reasonable circumstances such as rowdy, aggressive, nuisance, unsafe or violent behaviour

  • In exceptional circumstances, we may provide alternative seats to those specified on the ticket

  • By purchasing a ticket, the ticket holder consents to being shown in official filming, photography and sound recording which may be shared online, on social media or appear in print

  • By purchasing a ticket, the ticket holder agrees to inform the Whistlestop Valley in advance of any medical conditions that may be relevant when travelling on the railway including, but not limited to, wheelchair use

  • By purchasing a ticket, the ticket holder acknowledges that some services and events use flashing/strobe lighting effects.  Any visitors with photo-sensitive medical conditions should contact Whistlestop Valley prior to purchasing tickets to ask advice

  • If the event is advertised as all-inclusive (i.e. all secondary activities are included in the ticket price or fare), it is not possible to purchase tickets for the separate activities/activities only/train ride only nor any other variation on this

  • Whistlestop Valley staff reserve the right to request visitors to stop any activity that is deemed inappropriate

  • Whistlestop Valley may on occasion have to conduct security searches to ensure the safety of the patrons

  • Visitors must comply with all relevant statutes, safety announcements and Whistlestop Valley regulations whilst visiting Whistlestop Valley and/or travelling on the Kirklees Light Railway

  • Whistlestop Valley does not guarantee that the trains will arrive or depart at the times stated and reserves the right to cancel, alter or suspend any train without notice, or to substitute a different engine should this be necessary for whatever reason

Cancellation Policy

  • Tickets for general days and special events are non-refundable and non-transferable except in the event of cancellation by Whistlestop Valley

  • Occasionally, Whistlestop Valley may cancel or reschedule services, sessions or events at short notice and without warning

  • Although Whistlestop Valley will endeavour to notify customers of cancellations or changes to scheduled services on www.whistlestopvalley.co.uk and Whistlestop Valley’s social media pages, it is the responsibility of the ticket holder to ascertain whether a service, event or session has been cancelled or rescheduled

  • If a special event service or a general day is cancelled, Whistlestop Valley will make every effort to accommodate you on another day (of the same offering or event) or offer a refund. Please contact Whistlestop Valley for information on obtaining a refund or an exchange.  Any refunds issued will be minus any and all booking and postal fees paid regardless of which party cancelled the booking

  • If the service, session or event is moved or rescheduled, Whistlestop Valley may set refund limitations. Please contact Whistlestop Valley at info@whistlestopvalley.co.uk for further details

  • If a service, session or event is rescheduled, ticket holders will be offered tickets for the rescheduled service, equivalent to the face value of the ticket

  • Whistlestop Valley does not guarantee that the trains will arrive or depart at the times stated and reserves the right to cancel, alter or suspend any train without notice, or to substitute a different engine should this be necessary for whatever reason

Refunds 

  • Whistlestop Valley will only refund pre-booked tickets if a session, special event or day has been cancelled by Whistlestop Valley. If a booking fee and/or postal has been charged, we regret that this will not be returned regardless of which party cancels the booking

  • Refunds and exchanges will not be granted if a visitor chooses not to attend their booked event, service or session for whatever reason, nor if a visitor arrives late for a timed service

  • Whistlestop Valley regrets that no refunds or exchanges are permitted due to adverse weather conditions if the special event or planned services/sessions go ahead as scheduled

  • No refund on pre-booked tickets will be made on the announcement of a subsequent special offer

 

Ticket Changes/Exchanges 

  • Whistlestop Valley will allow ticket changes/exchanges to be made under the following conditions:

  • For Big Adventure tickets, Little Adventure tickets, Halfway Play Day tickets & Young Engineers tickets – changes to tickets can be made up to 48 hours before the booked slot (subject to availability)

  • For special event tickets – changes to special event tickets can be made up to 96 hours before the booked event/service (subject to availability)

  • A £3 administration charge will be payable for every change made up to the original booking

  • Changes/exchanges are only available for the same event or service and are not transferable between special events or services

  • Changes/exchanges are not guaranteed and will be made at the sole discretion of Whistlestop Valley and are subject to availability

  • Whistlestop Valley regrets that no refunds, transfers or exchanges will be offered in the event of adverse weather unless the Whistlestop Valley cancels services 

  • All change/exchange requests are to be made by emailing info@whistlestopvalley.co.uk

Lost or Destroyed Tickets

  • In the event that your tickets have been lost or destroyed, please email info@whistlestopvalley.co.uk, quoting your booking reference number. Whistlestop Valley will happily replace lost or destroyed tickets free of charge

Reselling of tickets for profit or transferring tickets to another party

  • Tickets may not be offered for resale by anyone. Resale or attempted resale is grounds for cancellation without refund or notice

  • Tickets may not be transferred to another party under any circumstances. Transfer of tickets to another party is grounds for cancellation without refund or notice

Data Protection

  • For your protection, and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998, we only take your address in order that we can contact you in the event of a cancellation; authorise a credit/debit card transaction; and to mail out your tickets, if requested

​

All of these terms and conditions are governed by English Law.

​

Jumping Pillow:

  • NO Adults are allowed on the jumping pillow.

  • A maximum of 15 jumper on the pillow at our staffs discretion. 

  • During busy periods, jumpers will be limited to a 15 minute time slot.

Online Shop Terms & Conditions

By purchasing an item from our online shop, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions:

Refunds, returns, exchanges and changes

  • At Whistlestop Valley we want you to be delighted every time you shop with us. However, we understand that, occasionally, you may need or want to return items. That's why, if for any reason you are unhappy with your purchase, you can return it to us, unused and unworn, in its original condition within 14 days of the date you received the item.

  • To cancel your purchase under this cooling-off period, please write a covering letter and include a copy pf your order confirmation, giving the reason for the return as "contract cancellation". Please package the relevant item securely and send it to us with the documents so that we receive it within 14 working days of the date that the item was delivered to you.

For your peace of mind and protection, we recommend that you use a recorded delivery service.  Please note that YOU will be responsible for the costs of returning the goods to us unless we delivered the item to you in error or if the item is faulty.

 

As soon as we receive your returned items and the written notification of your cancellation, we will refund the relevant part of the purchase price for that item.  We will also return the normal postage charge if the item was sent in error and/or faulty.  Please note we cannot refund any priority, express or courier component of the postage charge.
